Composite Coating (Dental Bonding) In Jerusalem
Dental composite coating is an aesthetic treatment and it’s one of the provided treatments in Dr. Stela Heisler’s clinic – Dentist in Jerusalem. The coating can also be used to seal cracks or small cavities and can even be used to restore teeth that were damaged from tooth decay. A composite coating can also be an alternative to porcelain coating.
What is Dental Composite Coating?
Composite is a substance made out of composited resin, and in the field of dentistry it is one of the materials used for white dental fillings. A composite dental coating is a treatment that allows for a homogeneous and aesthetically pleasing teeth in cases where a tooth has been cracked or broke as a cause of a blow, when a tooth has a length or angle issue and even to seal spaces between teeth.
When choosing a composite coating, similar to porcelain, the coating does not allow for a complete overcoming the issue of a tooth’s discoloration if it has undergone root canal treatment – but it is a treatment that may be very suitable for achieving a natural and beautiful appearance for a host of other aesthetic dental problems. This is all thanks to the composite’s ability to be polished and repaired relatively easily. Thus, even if years after the treatment, some wear will be felt in the coating, turning the wheel back and restoring the perfect smile will be relatively simple.
Composite Coating in Jerusalem – How Does This Work?
Firstly, you must sand the natural tooth gently. During the next stage, the dentist gently glues the composite coating over the tooth itself and uses a special kind of light to harden the material and make it stick firmly to the tooth. Sometimes this action has to be repeated to glue several layers of composite coating over one another. Finally, the dentist polishes the coating while paying attention to the size of the adjacent teeth to create a united, aesthetic and nice look.
Composite dental coating is such a simple treatment, that sometimes there’s no need for anesthesia. But, in case other treatments are performed simultaneously, like a tooth filling, there might be some local anesthesia for the other procedures.
In the end, the result is of a coated tooth that looks natural and in a color that looks just like the adjacent teeth with a shine that is typical for natural teeth.
Composite Coating VS Porcelain Veneers – What’s Better?
Both of these materials are suitable for teeth coating while providing an aesthetically pleasing look. However, there are several differences between the two. First of all, there’s the issue of cost: porcelain coating is more expensive than composite coating, because of the differences in manufacturing. The porcelain coating has to be created in a special lab before it is applied to the tooth, while the composite coating can be created directly over the tooth itself. For this reason, the number of treatments needed for composite coating is lower (and sometimes can be even done during a single appointment), while porcelain requires two to three treatment sessions.
Other differences can be found in the quality and durability of the materials. Composite is less durable over time, tends to discolorize, crack, and might require future treatments, while porcelain coating is more expensive, but also more durable.
