Dental Veneer Porcelain Tooth Coating in Jerusalem
Dental porcelain veneers is intended to provide a natural look for a damaged tooth. This kind of coating, also known as “laminate dental coating”, is one of the most popular treatments in dentistry both in Israel and around the world, and it is, of course, one of the treatments provided in Dr. Stela Heisler’s clinic – a Dentist in Jerusalem. There are several types of porcelain veneers, but the differences between the options are minor and don’t affect the outcome of the appearance of the tooth, its quality, or its price.
Who Needs Porcelain Veneers Dental Coating?
If a teeth whitening treatment was performed, after which the patient isn’t happy about the outcome, if a tooth was broken due to a blow like an accident or falling down, or if parts of the tooth were damaged due to tooth decay – and even if all the teeth are health but some teeth are crooked or have gaps, you can coat the teeth with a porcelain coating to create a more pleasing appearance.
Dental Veneers Procedure Explained
When a porcelain teeth coating treatment has been chosen, you must prepare the teeth in advance: the coating itself is created to fit the tooth it will be glued on according to a computerized model or a plaster model. The color of the coating is made to match the adjacent teeth to create a united look of the teeth.
During the next stage, the dentist would usually remove a very thin layer of the natural tooth. Usually, it is a very gentle sanding of the tooth, and it might not even be required. Afterwards, the dentist glues a very thin layer of porcelain using a unique type of paste that glues the tooth with the porcelain veneer.
During this stage, some adjustments and improvement can be made for the coating’s shape, color or size and straighten slightly crooked teeth or seal some small tooth gaps to create an aesthetic look. This whole process only requires the patient to come for a few visits, usually two or three treatments.
Advantages of Dental Porcelain Veneers
Many of our patients who are interested in dental porcelain coating in Jerusalem ask about the advantages of this type of treatment. The main advantage of this kind of porcelain veneers, also known as laminate coating, is the fact that it requires very minimal sanding off the tooth. The sanded off layer is very thin, and then the coating can be glued on.
Another advantage of laminate dental coating is that the laminate method turns the material to be a part of the tooth itself, which means the tooth becomes stronger, more durable and less prone to colorization, and all that applies for a very long period. Usually, the only reason to change the porcelain coating is if major changes are made, like tooth decay in adjacent teeth, loss of teeth or gum inflammations.
Compared to other types of veneers like composite coating, the porcelain veneers are more expensive, but its quality is better, and it also lasts much longer.
